The Halloween Costume Exchange has been CANCELLED due to a lack of enough donated costumes.
If you were looking forward to this event, please let us know and we will consider offering this next year.
Have your kids outgrown their Halloween costumes? Are you tired of wearing the same costume Halloween after Halloween? Are you looking for an affordable way to acquire a "new to you" costume?
If so, visit the Library on Saturday, October 14 for our Halloween Costume Exchange.
For each new or clean, gently used costume you donate, you will have the chance to chose a costume at the Exchange. Please follow this link for information on how and when to donate.
Ticket holders will be offered the chance to exchange their ticket/tickets for a costume or costumes from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 14. Accessories/prop tickets may also be exchanged at this time.
Non-ticket holders (those who do not have a costume/prop/accessory to donate) may shop the remaining costumes/props/accessories from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 14. Non-ticket holders are asked to bring a non-perishable food item in exchange for each costume/prop/accessory theny would like. All food items will be donated to a local food bank.
If you are unable to find a costume you would like to exchange for your ticket, you may consider freely donating your costume or you may reclaim your costume if it has not already been exchanged.
In the event that two ticket holders wish to exchange for the same costume, preference will be given to the ticket holder with the lowest number on their ticket.
Costumes/props/accessories not exchanged for tickets/food items will be donated to a local charity.
Bossard Library reserves the right to cancel this program at any time if a suitable amount of donations are not forthcoming. In the event of cancellation, ticket holders will have 1 week to reclaim their costumes/props/accessories. After 1 week, all costumes/props/accessories will be donated to a local charity.
Children 12 and under attending the Exchange must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
We ask that everyone act in a courteous and respectful manner.
