Silver Bridge Disaster Memories Sought

The assassination of JFK, the Challenger explosion, 9-11 --- everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing when these life-changing events occurred.

The Silver Bridge collapse in 1967 is one of those life-changing events that occurred locally.

As part of their 50th anniversary memorial of the Silver Bridge collapse, the Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking your memories of the event.

Did you know a survivor or a victim? Were you part of the rescue effort? What were your feelings at the time? How did it impact your life?

Please share your memories with the Gallia County Convention and Visitors Bureau by submitting your typed manuscript via mail (441 Second Avenue, Gallipolis, OH 45631) or e-mail (info@visitgallia.com).  All submissions must be received by the end of the day on Monday, December 4, 2017.

These shared memories will be available for all to read at the Silver Bridge Collapse 50th Anniversary Memorial on December 15, 2017 at 5:30 PM in the Riverside Room, Bossard Memorial Library.
