Running from January 9, 2023 through April 9, 2023, Bossard Library's Adult Winter Reading Program, "I'd Rather Bee Reading", offers our adult patrons the opportunity to win prizes by reading and/or listening to their favorite books.
Participants who read/listen to 10 books will receive a stainless steel travel tumbler (while supplies last).
For every book read, participants will earn a ticket for a chance to win one of 6 themed baskets, with a maximum of 25 tickets per participant.
Each basket contains items worth up to $100.
Tickets may be used on as many or as few of the six baskets as a participant chooses. The more tickets you drop in a bag in front of your favorite basket, the more chances you have to win.
Baskets are available to be viewed on the table near the main entrance. The six themes are:
- Bookworm! -- items for the bookworm in you, including a Kindle Fire 8.
- Charge It Up! -- items to help if you have car trouble.
- Stitch! Stitch! -- items for the crocheter or knitter, or those who would like to learn.
- Fry On! -- always wanted to try out an air fryer? Now's your chance.
- Outlandish! -- for the Outlander fan.
- Buckeyes! -- items for the Ohio State fan.
Only books and audiobooks borrowed from Bossard Library will count for tickets and prizes. E-books and digital audiobooks borrowed from the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla are also eligible.
April 9 is the last day to receive the 10-book prize or place tickets in the bags. The drawing for winners of the baskets will be held the afternoon of April 10 and winners will be notified by phone.
The registration sheet and reading logs are located on the podium near the prize table at the main entrance.
When you finish a book/books, stop by the front desk with your reading log to have a member of the staff give you your tickets and check off that you have received them.
Please note: You MUST have your reading log with you in order to receive your 10-book prize or any tickets earned.
A valid Bossard Library card is required to participate in this program.
As Rubee, our library mascot says, I'd Rather Bee Reading...than anything else.
Stop by the Library to register and pick up your reading log today.
