50's Sock Hop (Summer Reading Program Kickoff)

On Saturday, June 1 from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM, cruise on down and hang with the cool cats from Bossard Library and Gallia Vinton ESC for a trip back to the 50's at our Summer Reading Program Kickoff/Treasure Your Family Program Sock Hop.

Come dressed in your cool 50's threads and be ready to get on your feet and move to a hip hopping beat!

Head on down to the Hop where you can:

See how hip you are at hopscotch, hula hoop, jump rope, Coke bottle ring toss, 5-'s bingo, and the limbo.

Create nifty things at your play dough station, paint by numbers station, and milkshake craft station.

Dance to a 50's beat with live music from Dueling Pianos and learn 50's dance moves with DJ Jenny Henchey.

Get your face painted with Jody, view antique cars, and compare items from the 1950's and today at the retro station.

Get your kicks as you watch a fab "I Love Lucy" skit from Wolfe Mountain Entertainment: Lucy has always wanted to be in a show, and she has cooked up another one of her wacky schemes. Join Lucy as she takes a tour of some classic movies and TV shows set in the 1950s.

Grab a hot dog, a Kona Ice or a Coke, Root Beer, or 7-Up float to fill you up and cool you off.
